GALLERY TALK: Kate Shults

Join us for a gallery talk by Kate Shults, current Lecturer of Film at the School of Visual Arts and Design, University of Central Florida and co-curator of the From the Margins: A Retrospective of Experimental Cinema at UCF exhibition. Shults will give insight into her own work included in the exhibition and the motivations for partnering with the UCF Art Gallery to showcase experimental film artworks.

Shults
has written and produced a variety of moving image works, focused primarily on experimental video and installation. Subjects and themes of her work include the ethos and landscapes of Florida, textures of digital images, and the use of obsolete video tech. Kate has curated for film festivals, micro cinemas, and community events, including the StarLite Film Festival, Surfaces, Sunspot Cinema, and the Florida Film Festival.
